Our Board

Channel Health Alliance has a Board consisting of Executive, Non-Executive Directors / Lay members. The Executive Directors are practising GPs and set the organisations’ strategic direction, make the final decisions on company policy, and provide oversight for the quality of the services provided. They work with the Senior Management Team who are regular Board attendees including the Head of Operations and Head of Nursing & Quality.

The Non-Executive Directors / Lay Members use their professional skills and experience gained from the private, public and voluntary sectors to provide additional scrutiny and oversight relating to the governance and running of the organisation.

Dr Jonathan Pryse

Dr Pryse joined the Board, as Finance Director in 2021. He has been a GP Partner for over 25 years, initially in Buckingham, and then in 2019 he joined Pencester Surgery in Dover after relocating to the South Kent Coast.

Whilst in Bucks he was Managing Director of ‘Bucks Urgent Care’ which provided Out of Hours Care for Buckinghamshire and also the Minor Illness and Injury Unit in High Wycombe.  He has also worked as a Clinical Investigator for NHS England, the Chief Medical Officer for Personal Group (Milton Keynes), as well as being a School Medical Officer for Stowe School.

He lives in Deal with his wife, who is also a GP Partner (in Sandwich) and has two grown up children.

Isabel Woodroffe

“I started my career in 1979 working for a range of Newspapers and even published one myself with a small team, in 1983.  In 1993 I left Newspapers behind, having sold ours to a larger company, and joined the NHS.

My first task was to help navigate the complicated world of “Tomorrows Healthcare” a government led plan to reshape health and social care provision in England. I managed boundless press enquiries and facilitated internal and external communication and engagement, for a range of NHS and social care organisations.

After 25 fascinating years in the NHS, I retired in 2018. Now as a Lay member for CHA I can help to ensure that staff working in our services, local people and our partner organisations engage with each other effectively, for the continued benefit of everyone … and as usual I am loving it!”
